On Thursday, April 28 the Highland Heights Police Department will be assisting NKUPD with a Drug Take Back Day. The event will be held on campus from 11 am to 2 pm in the Student Union. Officers will be on hand from NKUPD, HHPD, and Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force. Any outdated or unwanted prescription medication can be brought to the location for officers to take and destroy. You do not need to be a student or affiliated with the university to participate.
In addition, the National Drug Take Back Day is the end of April. This is a way to promote safe handling and destruction of prescription medication. The Highland Heights Police Department has a drop box in the police lobby that is always available to put any unwanted prescription medication. It is free to the public and there is no paperwork to fill out. However, the lobby is only unlocked during regular business hours from 8am to 4pm Monday thru Friday.
