The City of Highland Heights cannot regulate the number of family members living in a house – however we do restrict the number of people that are not related by blood or marriage, and you are not permitted to have more than 3 people is a single family dwelling unit (house, apartment/condo)….if they are not related. The City is actively enforcing this ordinance when we become aware of violations.
If you would like a change in the law to be considered, come to a city council meeting and address council about the issue. Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the city building, 176 Johns Hill Road. Any changes would need to be passed by city council in an ordinance.
